Viola, Wisconsin, is a village in Richland and Vernon counties at the intersection of state highways 56 and 131 about halfway between (though to the east of)
La Crosse and
Prairie du Chien, both of which are on the Mississippi River. It has about 660 residents. It was named after Viola Mach, the first white child born there.
