Genoa City

Genoa City 742
Genoa City is a village in Walworth and Kenosha counties on US Highway 12 along the Wisconsin - Illinois border about 10 miles southeast of Lake Geneva and 30 miles west of Kenosha. It is virtually adjacent to Richmond, Illinois, and has about 3000 residents.

The village was originally called Genoa after Genoa, New York. When the railroads came, it was called Genoa Junction. The 1968 edition of The Romance of Wisconsin Place Names still calls it Genoa Junction, so it seems to have changed to Genoa City some time after that.
