Boscobel 729 |
Boscobel, Wisconsin, is a city in Grant County just downriver from
Blue River along the southern bank of the Wisconsin River at the intersection of US Highway 61 and state highway 133 less than 35 miles from
Prairie du Chien. It has nearly 3300 residents.
The most likely sources of the name are either a derivative of the Castillian for "beautiful wood" or an English wood that sheltered Charles Stuart after the battle of Worcester. There is a Boscobel in Shropshire, England.
