Nelson, Wisconsin, is a village in Buffalo County along the Mississippi River at the intersection of state highways 25 (which crosses the river to Wabasha, Minnesota) and 35 halfway between Hudson (northwest) and La Crosse (southeast). It has about 350 residents.
It was first called Nelson's Landing for James Nelson. It was later shortened to Nelson.
