Lone Rock, Wisconsin, is a village in Richland County at the intersection of US Highway 14 and state highways 130 and 133 on the Wisconsin River about 40 miles west of Madison. It has about 830 residents.
The site is named for a "massive piece of sandstone" that once stood near the river and served as a landmark for early travelers. Wikipedia claims it was cut down for use in basements and foundations in the village. This doesn't seem a likely use for sandstone. In any case, the landmark no longer exists as it once did.
