Madison, Wisconsin, is the capital of the state located in Dane County in the south central part of the state. As you might expect, many highways run through it: I-90, I-94, US Highways 12, 14, 18, 51, and 151, and state highways 30 and 113.
Madison has about 270,000 residents, not counting the temporary residents of the University of Wisconsin. It is named for President James Madison.
