Kansasville

Kansasville 713
Kansasville, Wisconsin, is located in Racine County along state highway 75 just south of highway 11 about 15 miles west of Racine, which is on Lake Michigan.

It was first named Brighton by Captain John T. Trowbridge. Later it was called Dover. The current name has uncertain origins. It may have been named for the Kansas part of the Kansas-Nebraska Act. It may have been named for some settlers who came from Kansas. Or it may have acquired the name because the railroad went from Wisconsin to Kansas.
