Johnson Creek

Johnson Creek 734
Johnson Creek, Wisconsin, is a village in Jefferson County at the intersection of I-94 and state highway 26 about halfway between Madison and Waukesha - about 30 miles west or east. It has about 3300 residents.

It was originally called Belleville, even though that name also existed in Dane County. This caused mailed to be missent, even though the post office was technically called Johnson Creek. The name of the village was later officially changed to Johnson Creek after one of its founders, Timothy Johnson (who also founded Watertown).
