Jim Falls, Wisconsin, is located along the Chippewa River in Chippewa County about 10 miles northeast of Chippewa Falls. (It's about halfway between Chippewa Falls and Cornell.) It has about 230 residents.

The settlement was first called Vermillion Falls for the color of the earth in the area. Then it was named Ermatinger Falls for James Ermatinger. Later it changed to incorporate his first name instead of his last.
