Janesville, Wisconsin, is a city located in Rock County. I-90, US Highways 14 and 51, and state highway 11 all pass through the town, which has about 65,500 residents and is about 40 miles southeast of Madison.
The settlement was first called Black Hawk. It was later named for Henry Janes.
