Evansville, Wisconsin, is located in Rock County at the intersection of US Highway 14 and state highway 59 about 20 miles south of Madison. The city has about 5700 residents.
It was originally named The Grove for trees nearby but was renamed for Dr. John M. (or Calvin) Evans.
