Elcho, Wisconsin, is located along US Highway 45 in Langlade County about 20 miles north of Antigo. It was named for a place in Scotland (that has the same pronunciation...but not necessarily the same spelling?) by B. F. Dorr. I thought at first it might be Elcho Castle, but after finding that on a map, I see that there's an Elcho as well. It's not really much more than a couple of buildings, but you could say that about some places in Wisconsin too.
