Egg Harbor, Wisconsin, is on the Green Bay side of the Door Peninsula in Door County along state highway 42 about 15 miles north of Sturgeon Bay. It has a population of about 200.
There are two stories about the possible source of the name.
One states that there was a mock battle between the crews of two ships who threw eggs at each other. The other says that Increase Claffin, who named most of the places on the peninsula, found a nest of duck eggs at this location.
