De Pere, Wisconsin, is a city of about 25,400 along both banks of the Fox River in Brown County. It is adjacent to Green Bay to the northeast and I-41 to the northwest.
Father Claude Allouez named the site Rapides Des Pères (Rapids of the Fathers) which eventually was shortened to De Pere.
