DeForest, Wisconsin, (previously spelled "De Forest", with the space) is mostly located between I-90/94 and US Highway 51 north of state highway 19 in Dane County. It seems to be composed of three separate sections just north of Madison, two of which are separated by Windsor and Lake Windsor. It was named after Isaac De Forest and has a population of about 11,800.
