Coon Valley, Wisconsin, is a village along US Highway 14 in Vernon County about 15 miles southeast of La Crosse. It has about 790 residents.
The valley was originally called Helgedalen (Helge Valley) after its first Norwegian settler, Helge Gulbrandson. When the post office was established, it was named Coon Valley due to the large number of raccoons in the area.
