Cornell, Wisconsin, is a city in Chippewa County where state highways 27 and 64 meet. It is adjacent to Brunet Island State Park to the northwest. The Chippewa River flows through the town of about 1400 people.

The settlement was originally called Brunet (or Brunet's) Falls after trader Jean Brunet. It was renamed for Ezra Cornell, founder of Western Union and co-founder of Cornell University.
