Barron, Wisconsin, was originally called Quaderer's Camp. After the county name was changed from Dallas to Barron for Henry D. Barron, the city was changed too when it became the new county seat. It's located at the intersection of US Highway 8 and state highway 36 about 40 miles east of St. Croix Falls in northwest Wisconsin.
