Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, located Polk County about 10 miles northeast of St. Croix Falls, is named for the lake to which it is adjacent. The village of roughly 1000 people apparently also includes several islands in the lake - First, Cedar, Bear, Big, Carlson, and Paradise islands.
