Bancroft, Wisconsin, is a small hamlet along the east side of I-39 in Portage County about 15 miles south of Stevens Point. It hosts about 530 people roughly 20 miles east-southeast of Wisconsin Rapids. Bancroft was named for the Reverend Warren Gamaliel Bancroft.
