Baldwin, Wisconsin, stretches along US Highway 63 from I-94 to US Highway 12 in St. Croix County in the northwestern part of the state. It's just over 20 miles east of Hudson, which is on the St. Croix River that forms part of the Wisconsin-Minnesota border.
The village was originally called Clarksville (or Clarkesville) but was renamed in honor of the manager of the Western Wisconsin Railroad, D. A. (or H.) Baldwin. (Wikipedia and The Romance of Wisconsin Place Names differ on those spellings.) About 4000 people live in Baldwin today.
