Amery 701 |
Amery, Wisconsin, is located along state highway 46 in Polk County about 20 miles southeast of St. Croix Falls in the northwestern part of the state. The town was named in honor of William Amery who, according to The Romance of Wisconsin Place Names, never actually lived in Amery. Wikipedia says that, according to Place Names of Wisconsin, he did hold several local offices. Maybe the offices weren't in Amery proper...?
Amery is at one end of the Cattail Trail. Almena is at the other. Roughly 2800 people live in Amery.
