Verona, Wisconsin, is a city in Dane County just southwest of Madison where state highway 69 meets US Highway 18 / 151. It has about 13,200 residents.
It was first called The Corners because a main road from Galena (Illinois) to Green Bay crossed one from Mineral Point to Milwaukee at this location. It was later named Verona Corners and then just Verona for Verona, New York.
