Weyerhauser, Wisconsin, is a village in Rusk County along US Highway 8 about 15 miles west of Ladysmith. It has about 200 residents. It was named for Frederick Weyerhauser.
At some point the spelling was changed. I'm not sure when or why. Weyerhaeuser almost seems like an older spelling, but the spelling on the stamps is the one that is no longer used. Another possibility is that the stamps are simply incorrect, but that is unlikely as it is found on multiple types.
