Ladysmith, Wisconsin, is a city in Rusk County located at the intersection of US Highway 8 and state highway 27 about 45 miles north-northeast of
Chippewa Falls. It has about 3100 residents.
Early in its history, it had three different names, the order of which varies per the source. It was either Corbett (for Robert Corbett), then Flambeau Falls, then Warner (reason unknown), or it was Flambeau Falls, then Corbett, then Warner. It was finally named in honor of the bride of Charles R. Smith, head of the Menasha Wooden Ware Company. The Lady Smith is not known to have visited the area.
