Washburn, Wisconsin, is a city in Bayfield County on the shore of Lake Superior (northern shore of Chequamegon Bay) along state highway 13 about 10 miles north of
Ashland (on the southern shore of the bay). It has about 2000 residents. It was named for Governor Cadwallader C. Washburn.
