Suamico, Wisconsin, is a village in Brown County on the western shore of Green Bay along US Highway 141. It is adjacent to Howard to the south which, in turn, is adjacent to the city of
Green Bay (also to the south). Suamico has about 13,000 residents.
The name comes from the Indian Oussuamigong (or siteous-suami-gong) which has many possible meanings. Most have something to do with "yellow" and / or "beaver" and / or "tail".
