Rice Lake, Wisconsin, is a city in Barron County at the intersection of US Highway 53 and state highway 48 about 45 miles north of Chippewa Falls. At least, most of the city is located there. The regional airport, which is apparently considered part of the city, lies about 2 miles to the south. Rice Lake has about 9000 residents.

Early on, there was much wild rice in the pools and swamps of the area. Knapp Stout and Company, a lumber firm, built a dam on the Red Cedar River which helped create Rice Lake for which the city is named.
