Pewaukee, Wisconsin, is a city and a village in Waukesha County adjacent to the city of Waukesha to the south. I-94 and state highways 16, 164, and 190 (Capitol Drive in Milwaukee) run through the area. The city has about 16,000 residents, and the village has about 8200.

The town, city, and village were named after Pewaukee Lake which is said to come from the Potawatomi Pewaukeewinick meaning "snail lake". Other possible sources of the name exist.
