Niagara, Wisconsin, is a city in Marinette County along US Highway 141 on the Wisconsin-Upper Michigan border just east of Iron Mountain, Michigan, and about 60 miles north of
Marinette. It has about 1500 residents.
Niagara may come from an Iroquois word meaning "thundering waters". It may also come from Onguiaahra which may mean "the strait". (Niagara Falls has the same root.)
