Mukwonago

Mukwonago 704
Mukwonago, Wisconsin, is a village mostly in Waukesha County and partly in Walworth County at the intersection of I-43 and state highway 83 about 20 miles southwest of Milwaukee, which is on Lake Michigan. It has about 8200 residents.

The name apparently derives from the Indian mequanego, which most likely means something like "bear's den". At one time it was spelled Mequanigo but may have been changed to the current spelling to avoid confusion with the town of Mequon which is north of Milwaukee.
