Menomonie, Wisconsin, is a city in Dunn County along I-94 and US Highway 12. State highways 25 and 29 also run through the area. The city surrounds Lake Menomin and is about 20 miles west of Eau Claire. It has about 16,800 residents. Menomonie is a variant spelling of the Indian word meaning "wild rice".
