Marion

Marion, Wisconsin, is a city in Shawano and Waupaca counties at the intersection of US Highway 45 and state highway 110 about 20 miles southwest of Shawano. It has about 1300 residents.

It was first called Perry's Mills after J. W. Perry. There are 3 stories about the renaming to Marion. One says it was named for Brigadier-General Francis Marion. Another says it was named after Marion, Ohio. The final says it was named after Marion Ransdell, an early settler.
