Maiden Rock, Wisconsin, is a village in Pierce County on the Mississippi River along state highway 35 about 40 miles southeast of Hudson. It has about 120 residents.
It is named for a rock promontory along the banks of the river from which, according to legend, a Dakota Indian maiden jumped to her death. The maiden was Winona, daughter of Chief Red Wing.
