Lake Nebagamon, Wisconsin, is a village in Douglas County located about 25 miles southeast of
Superior. It lies just east of US Highway 53, just south of US Highway 2, and just west of state highway 27. It has about 1000 residents. Its name comes from this Chippewa phrase: "Nee-bay-go-moh-win". The phrase has been (mis?)translated various ways. In any case, it's something fitting for the area around the lake.
