Hillsdale, Wisconsin, is located in Barron County along state highway 25 about 35 miles north of
Menomonie (on I-94). It was originally called Mooney's Mill after the Mooneys who had a sawmill. Miss Jeannette Smith later suggested Hillsdale probably because of the hill and dale in the area.
