Florence, Wisconsin, is located in Florence County at the intersection of US Highway 2 and state highway 70 just a mile or so from the Wisconsin / Upper Michigan border. It was named for Florence Terry Hulst. The settlement had earlier been called Eagle or Eagle Mine.
