Emerald, Wisconsin, is located in St. Croix County along county D, roughly in the center of the box formed by US Highways 64 (north), 63 (west), 12 (south), and state highway 128 (east). It is 30 miles east-northeast of Hudson, which is on the St. Croix River. Its population is about 160. It seems that it (and its township) was named for the greenness of the forests in the area.
