Ellison Bay, Wisconsin, is located in Door County on the Green Bay (northwest) side of the peninsula along state highway 42 about 35 miles northeast of Sturgeon Bay. It has about 250 residents.
The bay was called Joe-Sahbe Bay by the native Americans. (Sahbe was also known as Mishicott.) The current name comes from Johan Berndt Eliasen, who later changed his name to John Ellison.
