Durand, Wisconsin, is located on the Chippewa River where US Highway 10 and state highways 25 and 85 meet in Pepin County about 30 miles southwest of Eau Claire. About 1850 people live there.
Durand may originally have been called Bear Creek and Chippewa. It was eventually named for early settler Miles Durand Prindle.
