Dodgeville, Wisconsin, is located in Iowa County about 45 miles west of Madison at the intersection of US Highway 151 and US Highway 18, where 151 turns southwest toward Platteville. About 5000 residents inhabit the city.
Dodgeville was originally called Minersville. It was later renamed for Henry Dodge, an early settler and the first governor of the state of Wisconsin.
