Deerfield, Wisconsin, is located along state highway 73 just north of US Highway 18 in Dane County about 20 miles east of Madison. It has about 2500 residents. It (and the township of the same name) was likely named for the large amount of deer that inhabited the fields in the area when it was first settled.
