Cochrane, Wisconsin, lies on state highway 35 in Buffalo County. It is adjacent to Buffalo City (to the west) which lies on the Mississippi River. It's about 45 miles northwest of La Crosse. About 400 people reside in Cochrane.
Cochrane was named for an officer of a railroad company. (Neither the full name of the man or the name of the company are currently available to me.)
