Caroline, Wisconsin, is located in Shawano County at the intersection of county highways G and M just north of US Highway 45 about halfway between Wausau and Green Bay along the Embarrass River. About 230 people live there.
Unfortunately, I was not able to find the source of the name. It seems obvious that it was named after someone called Caroline, but who exactly that was, I don't yet know.
