Bruce, Wisconsin, is a village in Rusk County with a population of about 700. It lies at the intersection of US Highway 8 and state highway 40 about 9 miles west of Ladysmith. The Chippewa River forms the eastern boundary of the town.
Per Wikipedia, it was named for Alanson C. Bruce who owned a logging camp in the area. Per The Romance of Wisconsin Place Names, it was named for a son of the Weyerhauser lumber family. As the book doesn't mention Alanson in particular, these may be the same person.
