Brill, Wisconsin, is one of those northwoods towns in the middle of nowhere. It's about 60 miles north of Chippewa Falls and also 60 mils west-northwest of St. Croix Falls.
It is named for Minnesota Judge Hascal R. Brill, an attorney for the railroad company. According to The Romance of Wisconsin Place Names...
At the time the officials made their first trip over this line, Judge Brill was with them. When they came to this first station out of Rice Lake, they asked Judge Brill if he would like it named after him.
Apparently he liked the idea.
I would like to know who named the streets in Brill.
