Belmont, Wisconsin, is a village in LaFayette County along US Highway 151 about 5 miles east of Platteville. It has about 975 residents.

It gets its name from the French Belle Monte, which refers to 3 mounds in the area. Belmont Mound State Park is located nearby. Belmont was Wisconsin's first state capital for about two months in 1836.
