Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, is a city in Wood County at the meeting of state highways 13, 34, 54, and 73 about 15 miles southwest of
Stevens Point. It has about 18,900 residents.
It is a consolidation of Grand Rapids on the east side of the Wisconsin River and Centralia on the west. When combined, it was first called Grand Rapids but was renamed to avoid confusion with another Grand Rapids in the same county and Grand Rapids, Michigan.
