Thiensville, Wisconsin, is a village in Ozaukee County just northeast of the intersection of state highways 57 and 181 about 15 miles north of Milwaukee, which is on Lake Michigan. Thiensville is entirely surrounded by the city of Mequon. Thiensville has about 3100 residents.
It was first called Mequon River until it was renamed for Joachim Heinrich (John Henry) Thien.
