Pickett, Wisconsin, is located in Winnebago County along state highway 44 about 10 miles southwest of Oshkosh, which is on the western shore of Lake Winnebago.
It was first called Welaunee or Weelaunee, a name that sounds Indian, but no translation is given. It was renamed Pickett's Station after Armine Pickett and later shortened to Pickett.
